One more interview done for Season 2 this week - and a couple more emails sent out requesting interviews.
I’m launching Season 2 on April 17, so mark that in your calendar and listen out for the Season 2 trailer - I’ve written it but still need to record.
I usually get podcast content done on a Wednesday evening, as my son goes off to Scouts and the house is quiet for a couple of hours.
However last night some of that time was taken up by cooking my own dinner and packing my bag for this weekend’s New Zealand Pipe Band Nationals. I spent the rest of my evening watching Derry Girls.
On Tuesday I recorded an interview with Owen Innes, host of The Scottish History Podcast.
That was a blast. It was 6am for me and I’d had a late night the night before but the chat was just the tonic I needed.
I’m excited to bring that episode to you, but here’s a link to a recipe for one of the foods Owen mentioned.
What I’ve been reading:
I like to read, I’ve finished Agatha Christie’s The Moving Finger and I’m almost finished The Talisker Dead by JM Dalgleish. I don’t know how I’m going to get through the rest of the year until the fourth book, The Cuillin Dead, is published.
What Scottish authors, or Scotland-based books do you enjoy? Extra points if they’re crime fiction or mysteries.
What I’ve been listening to:
I was gutted that Scotland lost to Italy in the Six Nations on Sunday, but I have been enjoying some podcasts on Scottish rugby this week.
BBC Radio Scotland Rugby Podcast
This has pre and post match content that is available on the radio but also made into a podcast to reach a wider audience. The hosts are BBC Radio Scotland commentators.
The Official Scottish Rugby Podcast
This is produced by Scottish Rugby, I listened this week to the episode with Dr James Robson, who is retiring as the Scotland Team Doctor after this weekend’s match against Ireland. The podcast is hosted by former Scotland international Chris Paterson, Scotland women’s captain Rachel Malcolm and anchored by Caroline Blair.
Another podcast I listened to this week was the newest episdoe from Wild For Scotland.
As well as being an authority on travel around Scotland Kathi has a soothing voice (and she was the very first guest in my first season).
What I’ve been eating:
Nothing Scottish, not even a can of Irn Bru. But I’m away to the pipe band nationals tomorrow so hopefully there may be something there.
The premise for Our Scotland will be your perfect day in Scotland and in that weaving stories of life in Scotland.
